Discover is Dream Scrolls' community catalog. It is a shared repository of ready-made scenarios, characters, lore books, and generation presets contributed by users and curators. It is publicly browsable — you do not need an account to explore and play content.

Discover Scenarios

Discover Scenarios contains complete story setups that you can play immediately.

Browsing

Filter by language, tags, or use the search bar to find scenarios by name or description.
Each scenario card shows the name, short description, character count, play count, author, language, and when it was last updated.
Click a card to open the detail view, which includes the full description, the list of included characters, and any relevant tags.

Cloning a Scenario

Click Clone on any scenario. Dream Scrolls will:

Create a private copy of the story in your account (or start a temporary session if you are a Guest).
Copy all characters and lore books from the scenario into your library.
Open the new story with a fresh message history — no prior conversation is carried over.

Each clone is fully independent. You can customise it freely without affecting the original published scenario.

Importing from ZIP

If you have a .scenario.zip file (exported from Dream Scrolls), you can import it directly from the Discover Scenarios page via the Import Story option. See Stories for details on the export format.

Updating a Published Scenario from a ZIP

If you own a published scenario, you can re-upload a .scenario.zip over it from its Discover detail page to replace its content (settings, characters, lore books, pictures) in place, rather than publishing a new copy. Anything that links to the scenario — such as a story or lore book that was cloned from it — stays linked, since the update keeps the same entry.

Discover Characters

Discover Characters contains characters shared by the community.

Browsing

Filter by language, tags, or search by name.
Each character card shows the name, short description, tags, and author.
Click a card to view the full detail, including the character description and settings.

Cloning a Character

Click Clone on any character card. Dream Scrolls copies the character to your library, including:

Name and description
Chativity, default presence, and mute settings
Tags
Attached character lore book (if the original had one)
Profile picture

The clone is yours to edit and use in any story.

Exporting a Character

From your own character list, you can export a character as a CHARX file (.charx) — a CharacterCard V3 ZIP archive containing the character portrait, description, personality, and lore. This format is the native export of Dream Scrolls and is compatible with other tools that support CharacterCard V3. See Characters for more detail.

Discover Lore Books

Discover Lore Books contains shared lore books.

Browsing

Filter by language, tags, or search by name.
Each lore book card shows the name, type, entry count, and author.
Click a card to view the full entry list.

Cloning a Lore Book

Click Clone on any lore book card. Dream Scrolls copies the lore book and all its entries to your library. You can edit entries freely without affecting the original.

Exporting a Lore Book

From your lore book list, export as JSON. The JSON file contains all entries with their labels, content, tags, weight, and permanent flag. Import via Lore Books → Import Lore Book or share with others.

Discover Presets

Discover Presets contains shared generation presets — reusable bundles of prompt templates and generation parameters.

Browsing

Filter by language, tags, or search by name.
Each preset card shows the name, short description, and author.
Click a card to view the full preset details:
- The AI model (or model type) it was designed for
- Context length, temperature, and other generation parameters
- All five prompt templates (System, Narrator, Mood, State, Summarization)

Cloning a Preset

Click Clone to add a copy of your own under Config → Presets. You can then apply the preset to any story from the Generation settings.

Editing a Published Preset

If you own a published preset, you can edit it directly from its Discover detail page — the same form used for personal presets, including its model fields. Saving updates the live Discover entry, so anyone who clones it afterwards gets your changes; existing clones are unaffected.

Exporting and Importing Presets

From Config → Presets, you can:

Export any preset as a JSON file.
Import a preset JSON file shared by another user.

Publishing Your Content

Any logged-in user (not a Guest) can publish their own content to Discover.

How to Publish

Content type	How to start publishing
Story as a Scenario	From the story list, open the story menu and choose Publish.
Character	From the character list, open the character menu and choose Publish.
Lore Book	From the lore book list, open the lore book menu and choose Publish.
Preset	From Config → Presets, open the preset menu and choose Publish.

Publish Settings

Field	Description
Name	The title shown in the Discover listing. Defaults to your item's name.
Short Description	A short summary shown in the Discover card and detail view.
Language	The primary language of the content. Used for language-based filtering.
Tags	Keywords that help users find your content when filtering by tag.
Visibility	Controls who can see the item in Discover.
Minimum Role	The minimum account level required to clone the item.

Visibility Options

Option	Who can see it
Public	Visible to everyone browsing Discover, including Guests.
Unlisted	Not shown in Discover listings, but accessible via a direct link.
Private	Only visible to you. Useful for drafts or personal backups you do not intend to share.

Minimum Role Options

Option	Who can clone it
Guest	Anyone, including anonymous users.
User	Registered accounts only.
Developer	Users with the Developer role or higher.
Admin	Administrators only.

Updating an Existing Publication

Publishing the same item again — where "same" means the same name and the same author — updates the existing Discover entry rather than creating a duplicate. This is the intended workflow for maintaining your published content over time: edit your local copy, then publish again to push the update.

Official Content

Some Discover entries are marked Official with a purple badge. Official items are curated and published by admins. They are not associated with any individual user account and appear prominently in Discover. You can clone Official content just like any other Discover entry.
